I started sketching a blend between a Mustang and Ford GT supercar April of 2015. With the arrival of the 2017 GT supercar and only 500 being built I wanted to capture its design character and apply that to a more familiar proportioned package. The GTT is a tribute to the breathtaking supercar. The second ‘T’ standing for ‘Tribute’. It’s the perfect blend of supercar design cues and established coupe proportions.
To make this happen Kenny Pfitzer contacted me asking if I had any Mustang designs. I showed him the GTT concept sketches and we were off to building this beast. He started a new company called Zero to 60 Designs and wanted a car to showcase the design/fabrication capabilities and sell bespoke vehicles.
The Mustang was a no-brainer to apply a design that takes cues from the GT supercar. Every panel has been developed to reach the ideal forms and proportions. The large front grille and piercing hood establish the imposing face. Exclusive grille patterns are applied with 3D diamond shaped apertures derived from the large hood vent shapes. Side vents behind the front wheel arches, distinctive rocker panels, rear quarter panel airdams, and the characteristic hood vents all allude to the GTT’s pedigree. The enhanced rear arches lead around to an unmistakable rear end. The striking design cues are applied to the rear for a truly distinguished rear paying homage to the GT. The massive diffuser rises up along the carbon flared lips housing the unique grilles and central exhaust. This ride bridges the gap allowing unattainable GT aspirations to be within reach of the enthusiast car collector or privileged individual.
We revealed the GTT at the 2016 SEMA show in Las Vegas with a great response. Plans are in place to produce 25 of these bespoke rides.
